Consumer Medical equipment has continued to advance bringing more and more treatment options into the home so patients can monitor and treat their own conditions without the need for office or clinic visits. Portable and Disposable diagnostics equipment is now easy to use and inexpensive making at home treatment an option for a variety of conditions. Consumer Health and Fitness equipment also allows patients to easily measure progress toward specific treatment goals. Telehealth capabilities allows the data created by home treatment to be made available by a treatment specialist to augment traditional in-office diagnostics.

Health and Fitness
Heath and Fitness equipment can be used both by patients and non-patients to more easily achieve health or recovery goals by measuring traditional body metrics like pulse rate, blood glucose or oxygen levels. The user can more easily track progress and set realistic goals when the data is captured and tracked over an extended period so that trends can be identified and used to adjust activity levels.

Mobile/Disposable Diagnostics
The rise in consumer oriented medical equipment has increased requirements for easy to use diagnostics equipment. Mobile and Disposable Diagnostics equipment has allowed for cost reductions and simplification for a wide variety of in-home treatment processes. Intelligence built into the equipment guides the user and identifies potential missapplications that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Telehealth
As more and more data is available from home treatment it is important to make the results available for review by treatment specialists. A storage and communications home gateway can provide the ability for authorized providers to spot criticsal trends or deviations that could help predict health events prior to occurance. This can avoid costly hospital visits and life threatening emergencies.
