Gennum Expands Distribution Agreement with Nu Horizons

Global Partnership to Drive Additional High-Performance Optical, Analog and Mixed-Signal Sales

Singapore – 17 October 2007 - With a continued focus on global expansion to meet the growing demand for high-performance optical, analog and mixed signal solutions, Gennum Corporation (TSX: GND) today announced it has broadened its distribution agreement with Nu Horizons Electronics Corp. (NASDAQ: NUHC), a leading global distributor of advanced technology semiconductor, display, illumination, power and system solutions. The global agreement gives Nu Horizons distribution rights to sell Gennum's industry-leading line of optical, analog and mixed-signal products, including the industry's first 3 Gb/s optical solution which supports the new Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) 3 Gb/s SDI standard. Nu Horizons previously distributed Gennum's products throughout the UK and Ireland.

Nu Horizons will have rights to sell Gennum's extensive line of optical, analog and mixed-signal solutions including serializers, deserializers, equalizers, re-clockers, timing generators, HDMI/DVI receiver solutions, cable drivers and video optical modules. The line includes the industry's only 3 Gb/s optical solution, which was introduced this month at the International Broadcasters Convention in Amsterdam. The new dual transmitter and dual receiver optical modules enable high bandwidth video transport for the delivery of high-definition 1080p50/60 content over a single optical serial link.
